IDLE MOTION: SHOOTING WITH LIGHT
We first came across theatre company Idle Motion at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, where they've impressed our review team with their excellent, thought-provoking work. When I heard they were planning to shine their light on on the subject of Gerda Taro, a skilled German photographer who worked on the frontlines of the Spanish Civil War, I was intrigued.
I sent some questions over to Grace Chapman, who performs in the play, 'Shooting With Light', but is also co-director, producer and company manager of Idle Motion. You can read the interview here.

BRIAN LOGAN: SPRINT AT CAMDEN PEOPLE'S THEATRE
Sprint Festival at Camden People's Theatre has been running since early in March, but comes to an end on Sunday. It may be nearly over but there's still a chance to catch some of the excellent events on offer.

COMEDY: Omid Djalili - Iranalamadingdong | Hammersmith Apollo | 27-28 Mar (pictured) Omid Djalili brings a six month tour of his latest stand up show, 'Iranalamadingdong', to a close with the second of two nights at the Hammersmith Apollo, giving his take on everything from the Middle East to Miley Cyrus. COMEDY: Susie Essman | Soho Theatre | 27-29 Mar Known for her role in 'Curb Your Enthusiasm', Susie Essman also has almost 30 years of experience as a stand up under her belt. MUSIC: GoGo Penguin | Union Chapel | 27 Mar Mercury-nominated last year for their debut album 'Fanfares', jazz trio GoGo Penguin return to headline Islington's Union Chapel for the second time for a special one-off show. THEATRE: I Am & Under The Covers (Double Bill) | Battersea Arts Centre | 28 Mar
Despite a major fire causing considerable damage to the building earlier this month, the Battersea Arts Centre was partly re-opened a day later, with many shows still running as planned. This double bill, as part of the BAC's Hourglass Festival, features two shows that examine the beliefs and attitudes held by young people in contemporary society. Details and tickets here. THEATRE: Violetta's Last Tango | Artsdepot | 28 Mar (pictured) Combining theatre, opera and dance, this show, loosely based on 'La Traviata', stars operatic soprano Ann Liebeck and West End star Arthur Kyeyune, with tango dancers David and Kim Benitez, and Cuban jazz violinist Omar Puente's tango band. Details and tickets here. WORDS & EVENTS: Independent Label Market | Old Spitalfields Market | 28 Mar The Independent Label Market comes back to London for its first event of 2015. CHILDREN'S SHOWS: Against Captain's Orders - A Journey Into The Uncharted | National Maritime Museum | 28 Mar - 31 Aug Created by Punchdrunk Enrichment, this new interactive show takes groups of 6-12 year olds and their families and places on the crew on the HMS Adventure. They then explore the vast wealth of maritime history and artefacts the National Maritime Museum has to offer. Details and tickets here. MUSIC: Ameriie | The Jazz Cafe | 29 & 31 Mar (pictured) R&B singer Ameriie comes to London's Jazz Cafe for two shows as part of her 2015 UK tour, at both of which she will be performing with a full live band. THEATRE: Fragile | King's Head Theatre | 22 Mar - 12 Apr The second of four weekly performances of Geoff Thompson's "emotionally raw and uncompromising" 'Fragile' at the King's Head. COMEDY: John-Luke Roberts – Stnad-Up | Soho Theatre | 31 Mar - 1 Apr (pictured) John-Luke Roberts is a man who, when not trying to make people think I've put a typo in his show title (it really is called 'Stnad Up'), is a member of the 'Alternative Comedy Memorial Society' and a writer on 'The News Quiz' and 'Have I Got News For You'. Here he brings his third solo show to the Soho Theatre, "an emotionally raw and incredibly silly hour of sort-of-stand up". Details and tickets here.
