You've no doubt heard of The BRIT School and its myriad successful alumnae (the likes of Cush Jumbo, Amy Winehouse, Adele, and Jessie J) , but you may not have heard of The Bridge Company, its theatre-department off-shoot, which provides a bridge (see what they did there?) for graduates of the school to a career in theatrical performance.
Their current show 'Reality', which is suitable for teenage audiences, heads to London's Ovalhouse this month. I sent some questions over to BRIT School theatre director Simon Stephens. You can read the interview here.

DANIEL FINN: THE CLOCKMAKER'S DAUGHTER
'The Clockmaker's Daughter', a new musical from the writing partnership of Michael Webborn and Daniel Finn, has just begun a month-long run at London's Landor Theatre, and early responses to the production appear to be extremely positive...
Intrigued by the sound of the show's folky subject matter and themes, I sent some questions over to Daniel Finn, to find out more about the musical, and the team behind it. You can read the interview here.

The utterly, utterly, utterly brilliant Kid Carpet comes to Greenwich Theatre with his latest show for children. Through the combined arts of theatre and pop music he'll ask questions, such as are the neighbours really feeding cats to their dog? And Why do they smell like lemons and cat wee? MAGIC: Pete Firman | Udderbelly | 6 Jun Top comedic magician, or magical comedian - No, I think the first one was better - Pete Firman will be performing for one night only at the Udderbelly down on London's Southbank. CIRCUS: Circus Geeks - Beta Testing | Udderbelly | 29 May - 21 Jun There are two performances of Circus Geeks' 'Beta Testing' today, which gives you very little excuse not to set it in your diary. The group reveal the secrets of life as a juggler, and most importantly show off the incredible skills that have allowed them to go pro. Details and tickets here. COMEDY: Dan Clark - The Wow Wow Show | Soho Theatre | 7 Jun (pictured) Funny fella Dan Clark brings his British take on the classic American talk show to the Soho Theatre, with stand up, sketches, music and more, showcasing the finest in upcoming comedy talent. PHOTOGRAPHY: Victorian London In Photographs | London Metropolitan Archives | 5 May - 8 Oct I don't know about you, but I find looking at old pictures of London endlessly fascinating. Especially areas I recognise well. So this free exhibition of pictures from the arrival of photograph in capital in 1839 and beyond is very appealing. See the first known photograph of the capital to the opening of Blackwall Tunnel, daily life on the city streets and more. Details here. |

FILM: London Road - The Live Film Premiere | various cinemas | 9 Jun
The premiere of the film version of National Theatre production 'London Road', which stars Olivia Colman, Anita Dobson and Tom Hardy, will be broadcast in cinemas around the capital (and nationwide). Key cast and crew will be on hand for a Q&A after the screening. Details and tickets here. THEATRE: d(ARE) / Here Be Lions | The Print Room | 9-27 Jun (pictured) The original French production of 'd(ARE) / Here Be Lions' was created by artist, choreographer and dancer Sandrine Buring, and playwright and director Stéphane Olry, an inspired by their artist residencies at the Hôpital de la Roche-Guyon, a hospital for children with multiple and severe neurological difficulties. Translated by Neil Bartlett, with performers including actor Hayley Carmichael and vocal improviser Phil Minton, this is the UK premiere of this blend of dance and immersive theatre. THEATRE: An Audience With Jimmy Savile | Park Theatre | 10 Jun - 11 Jul (pictured) The world premiere of Jonathan Maitland's 'An Audience With Jimmy Savile', starring Alistair McGowan. Set in 1991, just after Savile received his knighthood, the story examines how he got away with the sexual abuse he was carrying out apparently unnoticed and follows one woman who fought back. THEATRE: The Education Of A Lapdancer | Courtyard Theatre | 10-14 Jun John Cooper's 'The Education Of A Lapdancer' explores the growing ethnic diversity of contemporary London and looks at values and morals in a rapidly changing culture, and the realities of life for those at the frontline in public sector education and those trying to get their first job - what will get a personable young girl from Romania further, a GCSE or a G-String?
