It's not the first time Told By An Idiot's 'Charlie & Stan' has been performed at Wilton's Music Hall, but we are very glad to see it return to that venue as part of the rather excellent London International Mime Festival.
We know a bit about the piece already, having spoken to the company's Paul Hunter about it on a previous occasion, but we were still eager to find out more from one of the stars of the show, Danielle Bird, who is playing Charlie in the upcoming London dates and on a tour.

Meanwhile, over at Shoreditch Town Hall, is another show that we've known and loved because we saw it at edfringe, though quite some time has elapsed since that happy event. In any case, our reviewer was utterly entranced by this exploration of a deteriorating mind from the excellent Theatre Re, and gave it 5/5. Head to the venue website here to book your tickets.
Marcel | London International Mime Festival | 17 Jan-5 Feb
Here's one for those of you who would love to partake of the fabulous LIMF but may not be in a position to make it in person this time. For yes, this is a free online screening of 'Marcel', starring original Théâtre De Complicité members Jos Houben and Marcello Magni. Oh, it's definitely time for some comedy now, not least because we are halfway through that legendarily dark and often damp month of January. Though, it's comedy for a specific audience, the parents of very small children, who are very deserving of some funny-times, so I have no qualms about focusing on their entertainment needs. Six Plays One Day | The Space | 21 Jan
I daresay you might be expected to have worked out from that title what this is, but, you know, I will explain nonetheless: it's a festival of six plays all staged in one day by Threedumb Theatre. There are rising discounts when you buy tickets for more than one of them, and they're by Louis Gale, Katie Read, Hannah Roze-Lewis, Ruby Shrimpton, Joseph Winder and Rebecca Phythian. More here.

Here's another show for those of you who can't or don't want to venture out much this week, as it's available to watch online. We tipped it when it was a live show, because we really wanted to see it, an acclaimed revival of George Bernard Shaw's well loved romantic comedy. Two Billion Beats | Orange Tree Theatre | 23 Jan-4 Feb
Meanwhile, in addition to being able to stream the Orange Tree's recent production, you can also head over to the venue to see the next one, 'Two Million Beats' by Sonali Bhattacharyya. It's an acclaimed play, first staged at the venue in 2022, a coming of age story about two sisters focusing on the "unfairness of growing up in a world where you don't make the rules". "It's the best place in the world so why would anyone burn it down? Can these two cowboys figure it out before time is up?" Another edfest success for you now, a Fringe First winner featuring clowning, physical theatre and comedy that also promises to be "thrilling, joyful and heart-wrenching". No One | Omnibus Theatre | 17-28 Jan
And finally, another thrilling show, this one from Akimbo Theatre, inspired by themes from the work of HG Wells. "Strange things are happening in Wellstone; a haunted pub quiz, a hovering pizza, and flying girls going missing. Whilst being investigated by police, Thomas Marvel accidentally befriends an invisible man called Griffin. But does Griffin truly exist and is he the violent monster everyone would have us believe?"
