Riki Lindhome: Dead Inside One of our favourite shows at edfringe 2024 was Riki Lindhome's 'Dead Inside', a powerful and moving comedy show about the performer's fertility journey. So it was great to hear that the show is headed for an imminent run at London's Soho Theatre.
You may well have seen the show, or may be aware of Lindhome's work as part of musical comedy duo Garfunkel And Oates, or of her prolific screen career that's seen her appear in films like 'Knives Out' and 'Million Dollar Baby', plus US TV shows like 'Wednesday' and 'Brooklyn Nine Nine'.
I spoke to Riki to find out more about the show, what it's like to create work about such a personal subject, and more about the creator herself.

ONE PERSON SHOWS
In Some Dark Valley | White Bear Theatre | 31 Mar-4 Apr This week I thought we'd celebrate one of my favourite things, the one person show, for I know of at least three good ones, and probably more, taking place in the capital this week. First up, written and performed by Robert Bailey, this is about Reverend Brand, a post-Civil-War preacher from the mountains of Appalachia. And it includes traditional songs as well as a compelling story, find out more here.
The Van Gogh Shogh | The Pen Theatre/The Rosemary Branch Theatre | 25 Mar + 27-28 Mar (pictured) I am a sucker for a well named show and this is a beaut. Well, if you are American. It's by the award winning Donna Oblongata, and sees Van Gogh at the Van Gogh Immersive Experience, helping audience members create one of his most famous works. Expect hilarious clowning and sipping/painting as well as some serious questions. In the next seven days it's at The Pen Theatre and The Rosemary Branch, but you can also see it at CPT in April.
Do You Know Where To Go From Here | The Space | 31 Mar-4 Apr "Sophie wakes up in a strange space under a giant mound of clothes. There is no way out, no one able to help, and God is nowhere to be found. In an attempt to escape, she does the only thing she knows best: tidying up". And in doing so, she deals with old wounds and looks for a lifeline amongst the clutter. A dark comedy that explores grief in relation to migration, family and faith. All the details here.

LONGER RUNS
I Want My Hat Back Trilogy | Little Angel Theatre | 26 Mar-9 May Just the one show for the small ones this week, partly because we've done quite a lot of small one shows lately, but also because it's the Easter holidays coming up so we might want to focus on stuff like that next week. Anyway, if you are in possession of a child aged three to six, you're probably already aware of the books by Jon Klassen that this show is based on, so will probably want to head this way to get those tickets booked.
Lifeline | Southwark Playhouse | 28 Mar-2 May (pictured) A musical with a very intriguing hook, in that it focuses on medical pros: penicillin discoverer Alexander Fleming in the past, and junior doctor Jess in present day Edinburgh. The show features a chorus of real life nurses, doctors, vets, dentists and scientists alongside the professional cast, as well as "heart, humour and toe-tapping Scottish tunes". Find out more on the venue website right about here.
Burnt Up Love | Theatro Technis | 26 Mar-18 Apr "After decades in jail, Mac is looking for the daughter he has never known. But she is on a collision course with her ex-lover's family after her explosive temper gets the better of her. Her new lover JayJayJay is trying to stay out of trouble, but this is one family that's addicted to chaos". A play by Ché Walker that first won oodles of acclaim back in 2024. MORE GREAT STUFF
This Is Not About Me. | Soho Theatre | 25 Mar-18 Apr (pictured) Final section for today, three more great shows of the highest quality, starting with one that was quite the hit at the 2025 Edinburgh Festival Fringe and won much critical acclaim. It's an intriguing premise – a spiralling playwright dramatises her own broken relationship, and everything that is written is edited and redrafted. "Should she let truth get in the way of a good story?" Well, let's see, shall we? Book here.
Glitch – The True Story Of The Post Office Scandal | Wilton's Music Hall | 31 Mar-2 Apr "Pam Stubbs has been sub-postmistress of Barkham Post Office for over twenty years, respected and loved by the community. But when unexplained discrepancies start appearing in her accounts, Pam soon finds herself at the heart of the biggest miscarriage of justice in English legal history". An acclaimed response to this appalling scandal, which I'm pretty sure you must all have heard of by now. Click here.
Eggs Aren't That Easy To Make | Riverside Studios | 30 Mar-12 Apr Claire and Dan make one of those in-x-years-time deals, only – in this queer rom com – it's not a situation where they're agreeing to marry each other if they haven't yet settled down: in fact, Dan's agreed to donate the sperm if Claire's in a stable lesbian relationship. An already acclaimed show produced by a great creative team, find out more about it and get your tickets on the venue website here.
